A full-day walk from Gulmarg to Alpather Lake, which sits at 3,843 metres under the west face of Apharwat — frozen solid until late June, a sheet of blue the rest of the summer. The trail climbs through fir forest and shepherd meadows; our guide handles the permits and the lunch, you handle the views.
